WINE CHISELED
IN STYLE

Discover deeply place-centric Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines.

“Our close proximity to the cool Atlantic Ocean plays a major role in tempering excessive temperatures, usually felt during ripening in most parts of the Cape Winelands. This enhances the development of natural acidity and evenly balanced grapes. Our soils are well-drained Table Mountain quartzite and Bokkeveld shales, in what is a special viticultural environment.”

– PJ Geyer, Winemaker

OLD SOILS...

produce an elegant, more old-world style of wine. Multiple clones of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, planted across 10ha of vineyards, are naturally farmed, vine-by-vine.

Grapes are harvested and selected by hand. Our balance of tradition and modernity continues in a wine-making process that borrows from age-old French techniques and state-of-the-art technology. Nothing is rushed and the natural process of maturation is allowed to unfold uninterupted.

The resulting wines are described as: “chiseled in style, well structured, perfectly balanced and elegant.” Offering 5 years plus ageing potential. With the emphasis on memorable vintages that pay homage to the Orothamnus Zeyeri.

THAMNUS CHARDONNAY
2023

The 2023 vintage opens up with lifted citrus notes of lemon zest and white
grapefruit, layered with orange blossom and a hint of fresh ginger. A saline edge
and flinty minerality reflect the maritime influence, while subtle tones of
almond, crushed stone, and a whisper of spice add further detail. French oak is
finely judged, contributing gentle texture without obscuring fruit purity. On the
palate the wine is taut and energetic, its vibrant acidity and concentrated core
creating an electric line of tension.
