We are delighted to release the maiden 2021 vintage of Thamnus Chardonnay and Pinot Noir to market. (Purchased here). And we already have news to share…

Thamnus Wines is proud to be part of the Cape South Coasters, a group of like-minded up and coming, boutique producers from the region. ‘Their aspiration is one of exploring the cooler, southern and maritime region to its full potential, through their shared philosophies of patience, sustainable viticulture, low intervention winemaking and collaboration.’, as per the website. This group has diverse and exciting wines, while the region has diverse and exciting terroirs. Thamnus Wines has a unique cool-climate terroir on the northern slopes of the Klein River mountains, overlooking Shaw’s Pass.

We look forward to future events with the Cape South Coasters and this terrific group of winemakers.

Here is Tim tasting through the 10 wineries that form the Cape South Coasters, at the quaint Maanschijn winery.

Master of Wine and leading South African wine commentator, Tim Atkin, visited the Cape South Coasters at Maanschijn recently. Tim shared his delight upon tasting the 2021 Chardonnay. We can’t wait to see the scores and further commentary when the Tim Atkin’s report is published later this year.
